In this Nervous System Regulation course, you will:

  • Build a deeper connection with you body and emotions, becoming more open, present, and connected

  • Learn what the nervous system is and how it affects your day-to-day experience

  • Learn what emotional regulation really is 

  • Build awareness of how your body responds to stress, including chronic and traumatic stress, as well as how your body responds to connection, fun, and safety

  • Identify what stressors you’re experiencing in your life and how they impact your nervous system 

  • Learn  to identify when you’re stressed, activated, what’s happening in your body, and what is needed in order to return to a home base of safety and connection. 

  • Become an active operator of your nervous system - learn to move from the reactivity of stress to skillful response, safety and connection

  • Identify your patterns of fight, flight, freeze, appease, and/or dissociate 

  • Learn how to manage your emotional states and physiology when you’re stressed

  • Increase your resilience/widen your window of tolerance for stress and challenges

  • Increase your awareness of your triggers and automatic responses to stress so that you can take skillful action and have more choices about how to respond

  • Increase your capacity for interacting with others and managing conflict when you are stressed

  • Develop a toolbox of strategies that will you can use in moments of stress

Course Modules highlight:

Opening and Centering: Learn practices to connect with your body and emotions, and be more open and present. Gain a basic understanding of what your nervous system is

Neuroception: Increase your somatic awareness about how your body responds to stressors

Nervous System Hierarchy: Map out your nervous system’s responses to positive experiences and chronic stress

Triggers and Glimmers: Identify some of your common stress triggers and learn what makes you feel safer, connected, and joyful

Interoception, Exteroception, and Proprioception: Learn about all the cues that tell us we’re stressed and use our senses to regulate our nervous system

Social Engagement System: Learn and practice with how connection affects your nervous system

Regulating Sympathetic: Practice strategies that help you with fight or flight states

Regulating Dorsal: Practice strategies that help you with freeze or dissociation states
