Kristina working with a practice client

I've struggled with feeling and processing emotions all my life having been raised in a dysfunctional family. Working with Kristina and Somatic Coaching has provided the tools and guidance I need to plumb the depths of my resistance to life's challenges. I feel more willing and able to face and to heal past traumas and present issues. I always look forward to my next session and by the end I feel less stress and more strength to take on my day.

My Services

One-on-One Somatic Coaching

I work with each client to identify what is most important to you and support you to take new actions aligned with your values and goals even under the same old pressures. Somatic coaching sessions typically are 55 minutes and include a variety of conversational and physical practices. We can meet as frequently as weekly, depending on your needs and preferences, either over Zoom or in person when it is safe to do so. I recommend meeting for 10 sessions or more to accomplish some of the following:

  • Explore current challenges, strengths, and supports so that we have a foundation from which to help you build your path forward

  • Learn how your default behaviors, moods, thoughts and ways of relating reveal themselves in the body and take steps to transform them

  • Develop a greater emotional range and feel more alive and joyful

  • Increase your resilience for managing stressors and challenges

Somatic Transformation Group

This group is for people with chronic health conditions/illnesses. We will explore somatic transformation in a group setting with weekly 90 minute sessions for 8 weeks. Groups will include physical practices (that can be done standing, sitting, or lying down), dyad and small group discussions, journaling, guided meditations, and fun group exercises. Groups will include the following explorations:

  • Deepen your capacity to connect authentically and build trust with others

  • Find support with other people experiencing chronic health conditions/illness

  • Become familiar with and transform your triggers and automatic reactions into skillful actions/responses

  • Find purpose, meaning, and hope in your life, even with stress and illness

Take the first step.

What is somatic coaching?

The word “Soma” means body. Somatic coaching is a body-based approach to supporting clients in personal transformation. It involves really listening to and working with our whole selves. Somatic coaching views breakthrough change as happening not when one gains enough new insights and knowledge about an issue or pattern but rather when one engages in new practices that transform who we are. We become able to access all aspects of our wisdom - intellectual, emotional, and physical.

In a Somatic Coaching session, we will spend some of the time talking in order to explore and define the focus for the session.  Sessions include a combination of conversation and physical practices, including movement, breathwork, body work, Aikido, and mindfulness. These approaches are designed to tap into the innate wisdom of your body and release habits that may be getting in the way of your goals.

You will develop a greater awareness of your body, harness this wisdom to explore and try on new ways of being, and engage in practices that create more well-being, choice, and capacity to take new actions towards the things that matter most to you.
